The goal is to escape from the chains while protecting yourself from the monsters.
Your health is shown in the top left corner while the progress towards escaping is shown on the right.
If your health drops to zero, it's game over.
Before you begin, you can use the money you earn to buy different kinds of rifles.
Once you've got your rifle, you can start playing.
Sam will be chained to some wreckage in the middle of the night in the forest.
He can use a power saw to cut through the chain, but it needs time to recover between uses.
While he works on that, monsters will stalk and approach him from the darkness, attacking once they get close.
Sam can fire back at them with his rifle to buy himself more time to keep sawing and get away.
Tips and Tricks
This is where you need to maintain awareness of the surroundings, especially since some monsters are faster or harder to see.
When Sam is looking in the direction of one, there will be a noticeable screen blur.
Monsters can dart about, but some will make a straight shot for Sam and that's your best chance to shoot them.
